Chiropractic Care
What It Is
Chiropractors are extensively educated in the prevention, assessment, diagnosis and management of spine, muscle and nervous system (also known as musculoskeletal or MSK) conditions. They recommend a course of treatment to help relieve pain and improve function without surgery or pharmaceuticals such as manipulation, soft tissue therapy, exercise, modalities (ultrasound, laser, etc.), rehabilitation, and patient education. Chiropractors are also trained to provide nutritional counselling, as well as recommend injury prevention strategies.
Specific training in spinal manipulative therapy (SMT) allows chiropractors to provide adjustments using highly-skilled and precise movements to the vertebrae of the spine, correcting joint motion to restore proper movement and improve function.
The Benefits
Chiropractic care increases your quality of life by:
→ CORRECTING joint motion to restore proper movement
→ REDUCING pain of body structures
→ IMPROVING function without surgery or pharmaceuticals
→ GUIDING you in nutrition and exercise-based rehabilitation
What Makes Us Different
We treat whole body neuro-musculoskeletal complaints by providing an in-depth assessment of the nerves, muscles, and joints in the context of your overall wellbeing. This allows us to create a personal treatment plan that will address joint health, proper muscle and nerve function, as well as functional rehabilitation strategies to provide you with the knowledge and tools to overcome your complaint.
Postural Alignment
What It Is
This work is ideal for chronic or recurring pain. Through a personalized series of gentle exercises and stretches designed to make certain demands on your body, efficient muscle function and movement patterns can be restored. In turn, your load bearing joints are encouraged to move into proper alignment, allowing your body to work with gravity. As anatomical function is restored, painful compensations can be resolved. This work will reduce wear and tear on your joints and potentially spare you from more invasive measures down the road. In combination with massage therapy, all sessions are covered by extended health insurance, according to each client’s plan.

I’ve worked with Erika both professionally and personally for the last 3 years and am beyond grateful for her wisdom and incredible talent as a practitioner, as well as her innovative approach. As a patient, what stands out to me is her capacity to dig in and find the root issue behind pain or discomfort. As a colleague she’s been a gift to my runners and clients. Collaborating with her on programs to help people run injury free has been a true gift! She is a blessing to our community!
Acupuncture & Trigger Point Needling
What It Is
Acupuncture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine practice that works to balance the flow of Qi energy in the body. When healthy, the Qi travels along meridians over the body, but with injury or disease the flow is disrupted. Acupuncture works to treat both the root cause and the symptoms of injury, disability and disease. Acupuncture is both a safe and effective alternative way to relieve pain, improve mood/anxiety/depression, increase energy, and improve body functions. In physiotherapy acupuncture can be used to treat symptoms related to musculoskeletal injuries (sprain/strain), acute/chronic pain, stroke/neurological disorders, respiratory disease and allergies.
When used on chronic myofascial and nerve pain the needles can be used to treat stubborn facilitated muscle bands. With penetration of often deep muscles this treatment technique can create a deep muscle cramp or twitch which works to heal both the local muscle and the supplying nerve.
